Police investigate burglary in West Melbourne

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a burglary in West Melbourne earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told two men attended a diner on Footscray Road on Wednesday 22 September about 2.40am.

The pair attended in a white Nissan 4WD crew cab with rear open tub, orange light attached to the roof and stolen New South Wales number plates ALA 211.

They reversed up to the back door of the address and then entered through a rear door.

The pair stole a cigarette vending machine which was bolted to a wall and a quantity of cash.

They loaded the cigarette vending machine into the back of the vehicle and covered it with a tarp before fleeing the area.

It is believed the cigarette vending machine would weigh between 120-150kgs.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of two men who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The two men are described as being aged in their 20s with a medium to large build.

At the time of the incident they were wearing jeans and hooded jumpers.

Investigators are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
