Central Victoria Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are investigating historical sexual assaults in the Campbells Creek area, Victoria Police say.
A man has reported to police that he was sexually assaulted as a child while he was a scout during the late-70s and early-80s.
A 71-year-old man has been interviewed by police and released pending further enquiries.
Detectives are investigating the possibility that there may be other victims who have not contacted police.
Police are appealing for any victims, witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
