Police investigate Carlton North burglaries

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a series of aggravated burglaries and burglaries in Carlton North on 6 April, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told at about 7am a local resident observed a man jumping fences to properties on Princes Street, Carlton North.

It is believed the same man entered a Davis Street address between 7am and 8.05am and proceeded to the main bedroom.

The man stole various items of jewellery and fled without disturbing the victim who was in the front of the house.

About 9.30am the same man opened a kitchen door to a Princes Street address and attempted to gain entry before being interrupted by the victim.

The offender appears to have targeted several houses in the Davis Street and Princes Street areas.

All properties affected by this offending are separated by a rear laneway and it appears to be the same offender on each occasion.

The man is described as approximately 30-years-old, Caucasian, round face with a stocky build, wearing a black t-shirt with a white patch on the sleeve and black pants.

Police have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
