Police investigate Coburg aggravated burglary

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following an aggravated burglary in Coburg last month, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged unknown offenders attended a residential address on Devon Avenue and gained access while the victims slept on Thursday 25 August between midnight and 7am.

When the victims woke up, they discovered laptop computers, mobile phones, a video game console and a wallet containing credit cards had been stolen.

The victim’s credit card was also used to pay for a taxi fare on the same morning about 4am.

It is believed three men got into a taxi on Moreland Road, Coburg, near the intersection of Cornwall Street and travelled to Essendon and Strathmore.

Further transactions were also made using the victim’s credit card at both these locations.

Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in relation to the incident and he has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft and obtain property by deception.

The Coburg boy has been bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.

Police are still seeking to identify two people in relation to the incident and have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries

The first man is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, aged between 17 and 20-years-old with dark wavy hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing glasses and a The North Face zip-up hooded windcheater.

The second man is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, aged between 17 and 20-years-old with long hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a baseball cap and Adidas hooded windcheater.
