Police investigate Cranbourne supermarket theft incident.

Police are investigating an incident at a supermarket in Cranbourne on the weekend, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a group of approximately 15-20 youths entered the supermarket, located at a shopping centre on the corner of Thompsons and Narre Warren roads, shortly after 6pm on Saturday.

They went through and grabbed a range of items, leaving the store soon after without making any attempts to pay.

It is believed confectionary, chips and soft drinks were stolen.

The teenagers are perceived to be of African appearance and a number of them were wearing hooded jumpers and backpacks.

Police are investigating whether some of the people from the same group were involved in a robbery at a bus stop on Lyall Road that night.

It is understood 5-6 males of African appearance travelling on the bus got off near High Street, along with another teenager about 9.40pm.

They approached the teenager and made demands for his phone, which they took from him.

No one was injured during the incident.

Anyone with any information relating to either of the incidents is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
