Police investigate Dandenong robbery

Detectives from Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit are investigating a robbery in Dandenong last month, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a woman was walking in a southerly direction on Newton Lane about 1.30pm on 9 July when she was approached by an unknown female.

The offender grabbed the victims handbag, pushing and shoving the victim as she attempted to steal it.

Following a short struggle the offender forcefully took the bag and ran off in a northerly direction toward Princess Highway.

The offender is perceived to be Caucasian, aged in her late 30s with long brown hair and was wearing a red jacket, blue jeans and black shoes with white soles.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of a woman they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
