Police Investigate Fatal Crash in Upper Coomera

An 85-year-old man has died following a traffic crash at Upper Coomera yesterday afternoon, 11 August.

Initial investigations indicate around 1.40pm, a Hyundai Santa Fe and a mobility scooter were travelling north along Heathwood Drive when they collided.

The rider of the mobility scooter, an 85-year-old Upper Coomera man, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries but passed away this morning.

The driver of the car, a 43-year-old man, was not physically injured. He returned a negative roadside breath test at the scene.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are ongoing.
