Police investigate hit-run collision at Mitcham

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a hit-run collision that has left a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries in Mitcham this afternoon, Victoria Police say.

The collision occurred between a black BMW and a motorcycle at the intersection of Glenburnie Road and Orient Avenue about 4.15pm.

It is believed the stolen X5 BMW did not stop, and fled the scene.

The 33-year-old male rider from Mitcham was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Police located the BMW on East Link near George Street in Scoresby a short time later.

It is believed four occupants in the BMW then committed an aggravated burglary at a house in Haideh Place in Scoresby.

A white Toyota sedan was stolen and police are currently searching for that vehicle.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and are keen to speak to any witnesses that may have seen the black X5 BMW in the Mitcham or Scoresby areas.

Anyone with information or anyone with dash cam footage is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
