Police investigate house fire at Newtown

Police are investigating a house fire in Sydney's inner-west overnight.

About 1.00am (Monday 24 May 2021), emergency services were called to the home on Darley Street, Newtown, following reports of a fire.

The fire spread to adjoining houses and residents were evacuated.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze and there were no reports of injuries.

The fire caused significant damage to four houses on the street.

Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the cause of the fire.
