Police investigate linked armed robberies

Southern Metro Region Crime Team detectives are appealing for assistance from the public to help solve two linked armed robberies.

Both robberies occurred on 23 March and involved the offenders using hammers.

The first incident occurred about 5pm at a liquor store on Chandler Road, Keysborough.

Two men armed with hammers entered the store and made demands for cash and cigarettes.

The pair then smashed the counter and a computer monitor before the attendant complied and they fled the scene.

The second incident occurred at a liquor store on Police Road, Mulgrave at 5.35pm.

This time a lone offender armed with a hammer entered the store and threatened they attendant.

The attendant was force to hand over cash before the offender fled the scene.

Fortunately neither attendant was injured during the incidents.

Police have released CCTV and images of two men that police believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
