Police investigate motorcycle theft and crash at Condobolin

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash in the state's Central West yesterday.

About 3.10am (Sunday 6 September 2020), a motorcycle was stolen from a home on Bathurst Street, Condobolin.

The owner of the motorcycle, a 45-year-old man, became aware of the theft about 7am and while patrolling nearby in a utility, he sighted the motorcycle at the intersection of Mooney and Molong streets.

Shortly after, the utility and motorcycle collided on Molong Street.

The rider, a 25-year-old man, suffered a serious injury to his ankle. He was airlifted and taken to Canberra Hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery.

The older man s currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Officers from Central West Police District are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the theft and crash.
