Police investigate Reservoir attempted robbery

Police are appealing for public assistance following an attempted robbery in Reservoir earlier this week, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a 22-year-old Reservoir man was walking along Gilbert Road about 11.20pm on Monday 20 March.

He was approached by four males who demanded that he hand over his wallet and backpack.

The victim refused and one of the offenders threw a bottle at the 22-year-old’s head.

The offenders fled and the victim called police who arrested a 12-year-old Clarinda boy nearby.

He was interviewed and released by police pending further enquires.

Police are still trying to identify those involved and wish to speak to the occupants of a white hatchback which was seen in the area at the time and which the victim tried to stop after the incident.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
