Police investigate series of animal cruelty incidents

Police are investigating three incidents of animal cruelty in the Mickleham and Greenvale areas since May.

The first incident was on 25 May when a kangaroo torso was located with an arrow in it on a Mt Ridley Road property in Mickleham.

On 1 June a kangaroo and her joey were located deceased just off Section Road in Greenvale, the roo had an arrow through her shoulder.

The third incident was on 2 June on Providence Road in Greenvale when a male kangaroo was located alive with an arrow in its rump.

This kangaroo was treated and is expected to make a full recovery.

Investigators believed that the incidents are connected.

Members of the public are asked to contact police immediately by calling Triple Zero (000) if they see anyone carrying weapons in the area.
