Police investigate series of burglaries in Williamstown

Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a series of burglaries in Williamstown earlier this month.

Investigators have been told three males entered a number of properties between 10pm on 3 August and 6am on 4 August.

The first incident occurred at a hotel located on Cole Street about 1.15am.

The trio forced their way into the property before stealing a variety of tools and an orange 2015 Hyundai Accent.

It is believed the men then gained entry to a property on nearby Nelson Place and stole cash and knives before fleeing.

The trio are also believed to be responsible for an attempted burglary in Windsor Terrace about 1.30am.

Detectives are also investigating a series of thefts from vehicles parked in Dover Road and Thomas Street where various tools were stolen from inside locked vehicles about 2am.

It is believed the men are responsible for these thefts as well as the burglaries.

The stolen vehicle was also located on Dover Road about 8am.

Images and CCTV have been released as part of the investigation in the hope someone recognises the males.

The first is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, approximately 180cm tall with a solid build.

He was wearing dark coloured clothing with a baseball cap, red gloves and was carrying a backpack.

The second man is perceived to be approximately 175cm tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a two toned grey coloured jacket with a hoodie on and dark grey pants.

He was also carrying a backpack which was grey and orange.

The third male was wearing a multi coloured blue, grey and black jumper and dark pants and is believed to be 175cm tall with a solid build.
