Police investigate serious two vehicle crash - Arthur Highway, Forcett

Police are investigating a serious two vehicle crash which occurred approximately 10.50am today on the Arthur Highway at Forcett.
The crash occurred when a black Holden sedan travelling towards Sorell has crossed to the incorrect side of the road and collided with a silver Toyota Yaris, which was traveling towards Copping.
The Holden was being driven by a 29 year old Primrose Sands man. He was extracted from his vehicle and was treated at the scene by Ambulance Tasmania personnel before being transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a critical condition. He was the sole occupant in the vehicle at the time.
The Toyota was being driven by a 39 year old man from interstate who received significant injuries. He was treated at the scene by Ambulance Tasmania personnel and was also conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital. At the time of this report he remains at the hospital in a stable condition. He was also the only occupant in his vehicle.
The Arthur Highway at Forcett was closed for approximately four hours while Crash Investigation and Forensic Service personnel investigated the crash.
At the time of the crash the weather was fine and road was dry.
Police would like to speak with anyone who saw either of the vehicles involved prior to the crash.
