Police investigate South Wharf theft

Police are investigating following a theft which occurred at a store at South Wharf last month, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a man and a woman attended a store on Convention Centre Place between 3pm and 3.45pm on Friday 23 December 2016.

It’s believed an unknown man has kicked the victim’s bag under a bench seat where it was collected by a woman.

The pair then left the area in an unknown direction.

Detectives have released an image of a man and woman they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man is believed to be aged in his 30s with tanned skin, a thin build and dark hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark cap, black t-shirt, denim jeans, white runners and white headphones around his neck.

The woman is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance.

At the time of the incident she was wearing a khaki long sleeved top, denim jeans, tan handbag and grey wide brimmed hat.
