Box Hill Embona Task Force detectives are investigating following a stabbing in Mitcham early this morning (16 October), Victoria Police say.
About 2.15am a man left his house to respond to noises outside a Cooke Road address.
Once outside it is believed a group of approximately 4 males allegedly began pursuing the man before assaulting him, resulting in several stab-wounds to his legs.
A 34-year-old Mitcham man was transported to hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or may know the identity of the men are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
