Police investigate theft of mountain bikes

Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after 29 mountain bikes were stolen between 18 December 2017 and 24 January, Victoria Police say.

Police believe a single or group of offenders cut a hole in the fence at a school on Anderson Street, Lilydale and have been stealing bikes over a one month period.

25 new Avanti Black Thunder mountain bikes have been stolen along with four second-hand bikes.

It’s believed the offenders have been fleeing via the Warburton trail.

Police have released an image of one of the bikes in the hopes someone may have more information.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
