Police investigate theft of valuable birds Pippa and Bubba

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the theft of valuable scarlet macaws during a burglary in Frankston South last month.

Investigators have been told offenders forced entry via the front door of a residence in Poinciana Street sometime between 5pm Sunday, 28 November and 12.30pm on Monday, 29 November.

Once inside the premises the offenders have stolen two scarlet macaws which are estimated to be valued at $30K each.

The birds, named Bubba and Pippa, hold a highly sentimental value to the owner, as they belonged to her late father.

The birds have had their flight feathers clipped.

Detectives have released an image of the stolen birds and appeal to anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
