Police investigate two car fires, South Australia

Police are investigating two car fires which may be linked.

About 4.15am today (Sunday 24 October), police and MFS crews were called to the Klemzig Reserve on North East Road at Klemzig after reports of a Holden Astra hatchback that had been set alight.

A silver-coloured vehicle was seen leaving the area soon after.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the vehicle.

Just after 5am, emergency services were called to Frome Avenue in Hampstead Gardens after a witness reported seeing three men breaking in to a Mitsubishi Lancer parked in the street. The car was then set on fire.

The trio then left the scene in a stolen white Toyota Corolla, with South Australian registration of S326CKO.

MFS officers extinguished the fire, which caused damage to the inside of the Lancer.
