Police investigate Viewbank attempted burglary and theft

Police are investigating following an attempted burglary and theft in Viewbank last month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a man rode a bicycle to a home on Grantham Road about 2.20am on Friday 24 February.

The man left his bike in the driveway and walked up the side of the house to rear of the premises, where he attempted to gain access to the home through multiple windows and doors.

The offender then stole several items of clothing including women’s underwear from a clothes rack on the home’s rear deck before leaving the scene on his bicycle.

Detectives have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s, with a solid build.

At the time of the offence he was wearing a flannelette shirt, jeans and Nike shoes.
