Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an alleged assault which occurred in Werribee back in December, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a number of people were at a party at a residence in Edwards Avenue about 11.50pm on 10 December 2016.
A man and a woman left the party and were involved in a physical altercation which resulted in the man hitting the woman and her falling to the ground.
A number of by-standers ran to the pair and a further fight involving 20-50 people ensued.
Police have been told that three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries but believe a number of others were injured.
Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the affray or with further information about the incident.
