Police investigating after attempted armed robbery at Batemans Bay

An investigation is underway after an attempted armed robbery at a business in Batemans Bay earlier today.

About 6.30am (Tuesday 31 March 2020) two men attended a bakery on Orient Street, Batemans Bay.

The men allegedly demanded cash, before threatening a bakery employee with an object concealed within a sock.

The bakery employee refused to comply and armed himself with an iron bar.

The two men fled in a southerly direction along Orient Street.

As investigations continue, detectives are appearing for anyone who may have seen two men in the area earlier today.

The first man is described as approximately 170cm tall with a stocky build, and was wearing a grey hooded jumper and a face covering.

The second man is described as approximately 180cm with a slim build, and was wearing a dark shirt and a face covering.
