Police Investigating After Fatal Crash At Forster

A man has died, and an investigation is underway after a serious crash at Forster last night.

About 11.25pm yesterday (Wednesday 27 August 2025), emergency services were called to Macintosh Street, Forster, following reports of a crash.

At the scene, police were told a motorcycle and van collided, causing the two men on the motorcycle to be thrown from the bike.

Police – assisted by NSW Ambulance paramedics and FRNSW firefighters – rendered assistance to one of the men; however, the 22-year-old was unable to be revived.

The other man, aged 23, was treated at the scene before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the van, a 22-year-old man, was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries and to undergo mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established, with inquiries into the incident underway by the Crash Investigation Unit and Manning/Great Lakes Police.
