Police investigating after men robbed at gunpoint - Glebe

Investigations are underway after two men were robbed at gunpoint in Glebe this morning.

Officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command were called to Elger Street about 1.15am (Sunday 4 April 2021), after the men, aged 32 and 35, were robbed of their watches, jewellery and credit cards.

Police have been told the men were walking home when they were confronted by an armed man with his face covered, who demanded their possessions.

They complied and the man left the scene.

Officers arrived a short time later and searched the vicinity with the assistance of a police dog team; however, were unable to locate the man.

Police are now appealing for assistance from the public to identify the man involved.

He's described as being about 180cm tall, with a thin build, possibly Caucasian; however, his face was covered. He is described as speaking with an Australian accent. At the time he was wearing a grey/dark grey zip-up hooded jumper and black pants; he was armed with a black handgun.

Police are urging anyone with information about this man not to approach him but to call Glebe Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
