Police Investigating After Public Place Shooting - Villawood

Police have commenced an investigation after a public place shooting in Sydney's south west overnight.

About 10am today (Wednesday 1 October 2025), police were called to Belar Avenue, Villawood, following reports bullets and casings located.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended and were told loud bangs were heard in the area overnight.

There have been no reports of injuries.

A crime scene was established and investigations commenced with the assistance of Task Force Falcon.
