Police Investigating After Stabbing At Newtown

Police have commenced an investigation after a teenager was allegedly assaulted in Sydney's Inner West.

Just after 12.30am today (Saturday 25 July 2026), emergency services were called to King Street, Newtown, following reports a teenager had been assaulted by a group of people before they left the scene.

A 17-year-old male was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to hospital in a stable condition for treatment of multiple stab wounds to his head and back.

Officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

An 18-year-old man is assisting police with inquiries.
