Police investigating hit and run, Andergrove

Mackay police are appealing for witnesses, especially those with CCTV or dash cam footage following a hit and run traffic crash in Andergrove today, Sunday October 9.

Around 7.45pm a 38-year-old local man was walking along Andergrove Road near Ferngrove Lane when he was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene without raising the alarm or rendering aid to the man.

A nearby resident came to the man's aid, contacting police and emergency services.

The injured man sustained significant head injuries and is in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle is urged to come forward.

Members of the public who may have footage of the incident, or any information relevant to the investigation are asked to contact police. Anonymous reports can be made.
