Police investigating serious crash at Nunamara

Police are investigating a serious single vehicle crash at Nunamara this afternoon.

Around 1.25pm police and emergency services attended a crash involving a Grey Nissan Qashqai on the Tasman Highway.

The driver of the vehicle, an 83-year-old man from Scottsdale, and the passenger, a 78-year-old woman from Scottsdale, were transported to the Launceston General Hospital in a serious condition.

Initial investigations indicate that the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Northern Crash Investigation Services on 131 444.
