Police investigating sexual assault in the southern suburbs, SA

Detectives from the Special Crimes Investigation Branch are investigating a sexual assault which occurred at Seaford, according to SA Police.

A woman reported to police yesterday (20 September) that she was sexually assaulted by a man as she was walking along the shared footpath on the Esplanade near the intersection of Helmsman Terrace about 11pm on Friday 2 September. It is believed the suspect then ran off in a northerly direction along the Esplanade.

Police today canvassed residents in the area seeking information from the community in relation to the incident.

The suspect is described as being of medium build, medium height wearing black sneakers, dark track pants and possibly a polo shirt.
