Police investigating wounding at Fortitude Valley

Police have released vision of a man after he stabbed a man in Fortitude Valley on Sunday night.

At 10.52pm a 38-year-old man was standing on Ann Street at the intersection with Commercial Road when he was approached by a man he did not know.

A short conversation has occurred, and the man has stabbed the 38-year-old man a number of times in the face and chest.

The man ran away on Ann Street.

The 38-year-old man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with major lacerations to the face and chest.

The man is described at in his mid-twenties, tanned complexion, solid build with short dark hair. He was wearing glasses, black shorts, a blue coloured jacket and black runners.

Police are seeking any information that may identify the man responsible.
