Police investigating wounding at North Mackay

Mackay detectives have charged a man following an alleged wounding in North Mackay yesterday, Sunday April 24.

Police will allege around 11am two men, who were known to each other, became involved in a argument outside a Canberra Street address which resulted in one man receiving a stab wound to the upper arm, causing a deep laceration.

It will be further alleged a 26-year-old North Mackay man fled the scene on foot, with police arresting him a short time later at a nearby shopping centre.

He was charged with one count of wounding and will appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on Tuesday April 26.

A 50-year-old North Mackay remains in hospital in a stable condition.
