Police investigating wounding at Southport 18 August

Police have charged a 28-year-old woman over the alleged wounding of another woman at a unit at Southport last night.

Around 8.15pm police were called to the Clarke Street complex after a 21-year-old woman sustained an injury to her abdomen.

She was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to her injury and is believed to be in a stable condition.

A 28-year-old-woman from Southport has been charged with grievous bodily harm.

She is expected to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
