Police investigating wounding at Townsville

An 18-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stabbing a woman at Kirwan this morning.

Around 6am, police were called to an Easterbrook Crescent residence and located an 18-year-old woman who had sustained wounds to her chest.

The man ran from the scene prior to police arrival, however was arrested after he was found hiding in nearby bushland just before 8am.

The woman, who was known to the man, was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

An 18-year-old Mount Louisa man has been charged with wounding (domestic violence offence) and is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow.
