Police investigating wounding incident at Rothwell 1 May

Redcliffe Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the wounding of a police officer at Rothwell this morning.

Emergency services were called to a Jones Street address at approximately 9.25am, in relation to a reported disturbance.

It will be alleged a 30-year-old man was armed with a knife, and stabbed a male senior constable to the shoulder.

The officer was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Support is being provided to the officer and his family.

The 30-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene.

He was transported in a stable condition to hospital, with a wound to his stomach.

A crime scene has been declared at the address.

Investigations are ongoing.
