Police investigation ongoing to locate Jake Mark Pearce

The police investigation is ongoing to locate 21-year-old Maydena man Jake Mark Pearce and police would again like to reassure southern Tasmanians that there is no risk to the community.

Around 6.00am yesterday Jake was arrested in the Bridgewater area in respect to Breach of his Bail.

His Bail was related to a number of offences alleged by police to have been committed earlier this year.

Whilst completing procedures associated with the police investigation, Jake was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital, at which time he managed to flee from accompanying police.

"The police use of the helicopter does not in any way reflect any risk to the wider community," said Inspector Damien George.

"I'd like to reassure the community that there was no risk to the safety of community members while police searched in the Hobart area yesterday, and there is no ongoing risk. I ask anyone who has seen Jake since yesterday afternoon to come forward."

Anyone with information on Jake's whereabouts is asked to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
