Police issue infringements after unauthorised vehicle protest in Sydney CBD

The occupants of five vehicles have been issued infringement notices for breaching the public health orders after they were attempting to enter the Sydney CBD to participate in an unauthorised convoy vehicle protest.

Earlier today (Sunday 1 August 2020), police launched a high-visibility policing operation to ensure compliance with the public health orders and the safety of the community and local businesses.

More than 200 police from the Central Metropolitan Region supported by officers from the Public Order & Riot Squad, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and Police Transport Command were involved in the operation.

Over 50 infringements and charges have been issued for breaches against the public health orders.
