Police issue plea to person of interest in New Town fatality, TAS

Hobart detectives have issued a plea to the person of interest in last week’s New Town fatality to come forward, Tasmania Police say.

Police are investigating a two vehicle crash on Pirie Street, New Town at the intersection of Roope Street last Thursday in which a 42 year old woman sadly died.

Detective Inspector Ian Whish-Wilson said that police would like to speak with Zach Muir-Bennett in relation to the fatal crash.

"We are currently conducting investigations and following a specific line of inquiry. We would like to speak to Mr Muir-Bennett and urge him to come forward," Detective Inspector Whish-Wilson said.

"We believe that Mr Muir-Bennett is being assisted by people to help him avoid speaking to us. If anyone has any information about Mr Muir-Bennett’s whereabouts can be provided anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers.
