Police issue updates on fatal crash at Tennant Creek

A woman has died and three people, including an 11-month-old boy were injured in a single vehicle rollover north of Tennant Creek earlier today.

Local emergency services were alerted by motorists travelling on the Stuart Highway to a single vehicle rollover 55km north of Tennant Creek near the Gibson and South Haywood Creeks around 10:25am.

Two passengers from the vehicle, a 14-year-old boy and an 11-month-old boy, were transported to the Tennant Creek Hospital. The boy sustained non-life threatening injuries and the baby is being medivac to the Alice Springs Hospital.

A 21-year-old female passenger died at the scene and a 19-year-old male driver was transported to the Tennant Creek Hospital for treatment.

Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash.

No further information is available at this stage.

This death brings the total number of lives lost on Territory roads to 12.
