Police have concluded a search for a swimmer who was believed to be missing in the water in the State's north.
Just before 5pm yesterday (Friday 23 January 2026), emergency services were called to Old Bar Beach, about 300m north of the Surf Life Saving Club at Old Bar, following reports a teenage boy – believed to be aged about 15 and wearing black boardshorts – had not returned from the water.
Officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Police District responded alongside Marine Area Command, Westpac Lifesaver Rescue helicopter, paramedics from NSW Ambulance, and Surf Life Saving NSW and Marine Rescue NSW
Following an extensive search of the area and no missing person reports being lodged police have now suspended the operation.
