Police lay armed robbery charges at Labrador

Police investigating the armed robbery of a service station last night at Labrador have charged a man.

It will be alleged around 7:40pm a man came into the store on Frank Street, went into the toilets for a short time and came out with a t-shirt wrapped around his face, fashioned in a balaclava style.

The man yelled at the female employee who locked herself in the office and called police.

Officers came and arrested the man still pacing inside the store.

The female staff was not physically injured.

The 45-year old Varsity Lakes man was charged with attempted robbery, stealing, possess tainted property, possess dangerous drugs, possess property of having acquired and failing to take reasonable to dispose of syringe or needle to appear at Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
