Logan detectives have charged a man following a series of armed robberies at service stations across Slacks Creek, Kingston and Logan Central between June and September this year.
Police will allege the 21-year-old man was involved in multiple incidents where service station staff were threatened with firearms or other weapons and cash was stolen.
The first incident occurred around 5am on June 2, when the man allegedly threatened a staff member at a service station at Kingston Road at Slacks Creek before leaving with cash.
At approximately 10.50pm on June 25, the same service station was again targeted, with the man allegedly threatening staff while claiming to have a firearm before stealing cash and leaving.
On August 22, just before midnight, it is alleged the man produced a firearm inside a service station at Juers Street at Kingston and demanded money from staff.
Two days later, around 1am on August 24, the man allegedly produced a firearm at a Logan Central service station night window on Kingston Road and stole a quantity of cash.
At approximately 9pm on August 30, the man allegedly threatened staff with a concealed firearm at the same Kingston Road service station, which had earlier been targeted, and demanded money before leaving.
On September 3, at around 7pm, the man allegedly attempted to rob the same service station on Kingston Road at Slacks Creek but left empty-handed.
On all occasions the alleged offender left the scene on foot.
Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested the man yesterday, September 4 at a Logan Central address.
The 21-year-old Kingston man has been charged with five counts of armed robbery, three counts of attempted armed robbery and one count of carrying a weapon in a public place.
He is due to reappear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 17 October.
Investigations remain ongoing.
