Police lay charges after Bundoora house fire

Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to a fire in Bundoora this morning.

Emergency services were called to the May Street boarding house just after 3am following reports of a fire.

Five people inside the home at the time managed to get out of the double story house.

Three people were taken to hospital for treatment.

A 38-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with multiple offences including criminal damage by fire with intent to endanger life, intentionally cause serious injury and aggravated burglary.

He has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
