Police lay charges after carjacking in Cranbourne East

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three people following a carjacking in Cranbourne East on 23 May.

Investigators allege a taxi driver picked up three male passengers on Barnby Grove just before 5am.

It's alleged the males, armed with a knife, threatened the driver and made him get out of the car.

The offenders then drove away in the stolen taxi, which was later found dumped on Bruin Street in Clyde.

A 14-year-old Clyde male, a 15-year-old Cranbourne East male and a 14-year-old Nyora male were arrested during a planned operation in Narre Warren, Nyora and Cranbourne East.

They have been charged aggravated carjacking.

The 14-year-olds have been bailed to appear in a Children's Court at a later date.

The 15-year-old was remanded to appear in a Children's Court at a later date.
