Police lay charges after cyber attacks

Detectives from the Victoria Police E-Crime Squad and Australian Federal Police Cyber Crime Operations Melbourne have charged a 34-year-old Ringwood man in relation to alleged Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.

The alleged DDoS attacks are believed to have been made against a telecommunications business and a large shopping complex between June and October this year.

The 34-year-old has been charged with three counts of unauthorized impairment of electronic media.

He has been bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 26 February 2020.
