Police lay charges after investigation into shoplifting syndicate

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a woman following an ongoing investigation into a series of shoplifting incidents in Melbourne's north-western suburbs.

Warrants were executed at residential properties in St Albans and Deer Park this morning following an investigation into the incidents which occurred in Werribee and Hoppers Crossing.

Beauty products, baby formula, cosmetics and other items valued in excess of $150,000 were seized at the properties.

The 25-year-old woman from St Albans has been charged with four counts of possess proceeds of crime and five counts of handle stolen goods.

The woman was bailed and will appear at Sunshine Magistrates' Court on 4 March 2021.
