Police lay charges after man injured with scissors - Granville

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged wounding of another man in Sydney's west overnight.

About 9.30pm yesterday (Friday 8 October 2021), emergency services were called to a bus terminal at Memorial Drive, Granville, following reports a man had been injured.

Police were told, two men – aged 38 and 39 – were involved in a verbal dispute, before the older man produced a pair of scissors.

He then allegedly struck the younger man in the back of the head with the scissors.

The injured man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

The older man was arrested by officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command and taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with reckless wounding.

The Parramatta man was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 9 October 2021).

The men are known to each other.
