Police lay charges after more than 25kg of amphetamine seized from South West Sydney home - Operation Clampdown III

A man will appear in court today on commercial drug supply charges following a large-scale drug seizure in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

As part of Operation Clampdown III, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a unit on Waterways Street, Wentworth Park, about 7.30am (Wednesday 17 March 2021).

A 32-year-old man was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station

During the search, police seized more than 25kg of amphetamine, which has an estimated potential street value of $3.65 million, an extendable baton, and electronic devices. These items will be forensically examined.

The man was charged with supply prohibited drug - large commercial quantity, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 18 March 2021).

Operation Clampdown III is an ongoing operation conducted by officers from across the South West Metropolitan Region targeting persons likely to be involved in public place shootings or firearms violence.
