Police lay charges - Aggravated robbery in Darwin 20 June

Northern Territory Police have charged two youths in relation to an aggravated robbery in Casuarina yesterday.

At around 1:30pm, two females, aged 15 and 17, attended a shopping centre in Casuarina and entered a business. One of the youths allegedly assaulted an employee with a blunt weapon before both youths stole a number of items and fled the scene.

The victim received minor injuries.

Strike Force Trident detectives located the pair in Malak a short time later, where they were arrested.

The 15-year-old was charged with:

  • Aggravated robbery
  • Possess controlled weapon
  • Serious breach of bail

She was remanded to appear in court today.

The 17-year-old was charged with one count of aggravated robbery and bailed to appear in court today.
