Police lay charges over home invasion - Cabramatta

A man and woman have been charged after a man was allegedly assaulted during a home invasion in the Sydney's south west overnight.

Just before 3am (Thursday 30 July 2020), police were called to a home on Cabramatta Road, Cabramatta, after reports of a home invasion.

Officers from Fairfield Police Area Command attended and found a 35-year-old man who had been seriously assaulted at the home.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A perimeter was established and with the assistance of the Dog Unit, four people - two men, aged 34 and 35, and two woman, aged 25 and 42 – were arrested.

They were all taken to Fairfield Police Station.

The older woman was charged with special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – weapon, destroy or damage property, and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic).

The older man has been charged with special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – weapon.

Both have been refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today (Thursday 30 July 2020).

The younger man and woman were released without charge pending further investigation.
